In person therapy
In person face to face sessions take place from a therapy room based in Ramsbottom town centre.
If you decide to book in with me, our initial appointment, is so that you can talk about what is bringing you to counselling and what you hope to achieve and also allows me time to assess if I am the right person to help you. This also gives you time to decide if you want to work with me.
If you bring a problem that I think would suit a more specialised counsellor/service to your particular issue I will direct you to finding the correct source of support so that you get the best outcome possible.
If, after the appointment, you decide to go ahead with counselling:
I offer short term (6-12 sessions) and long term (open ended) counselling. Whichever you decide I encourage you, in the first instance, to commit to working together for an initial period of 6 weeks before realistically evaluating the effectiveness of therapy. This is to allow time to build our relationship and gives time for me to have a clear understanding of what you are bringing to therapy and how I might help you.
Sessions are 50 minutes and are usually weekly on the same day/time however this can be negotiated if required/appropriate.
Sometimes, it might be that you want a one-off session or we only need a few sessions, there is no obligation but 6 is usually a minimum to begin with.
